Now in my ninth year as a celebrant and non-denominational minister, I have officiated over 800 funeral services.
Much of my work is obtained through personal recommendation, having perhaps officiated for a family previously or a funeral attendee has requested my contact details at a later date.
I do not work exclusively for any particular funeral company, but I have officiated services for independent, family owned and corporate funeral directors alike.
As well as my work as a celebrant,
I am also a qualified Grief and Bereavement Counsellor
and am able to assist with Will Writing and can recommend florists and printers.
In addition, if you would prefer to book a female celebrant or perhaps an organist for a chapel service, then I am able to recommend both.
Will Writing
Over 65% of UK residents over the age of 55 do not have a Will, rising to 75% for those younger.
Whilst 81% of people under 35 would consider leaving money to someone/something other than family - perhaps a charity or political organisation - this number drops to 47% for those over 55.
Whilst there is no legal requirement to have a Will - and it does not need to be drawn up using a solicitor - it's certainly worth looking at and is something I am happy to assist with.
Memorial Trees
For every funeral service I officiate I plant - if required - one Memorial Tree in memory of the person who has passed away, at no cost to the family.
In addition, I am able to provide a wooden plaque engraved with an inscription of your choice, such as name, date of birth and of passing and a single line of text.
From the 1st January 2024 I am donating £25 per funeral booking to a new organisation called The St. Jude Charity, which has been formed to help homeless people with basic help, such as hot food and drinks to help them through the night. Where possible, donations will also be put towards overnight accommodation in a hostel. It is also looking at how to co-ordinate collections of clothes, food items for them and, where applicable, their dogs.
